Program Overview

The course takes place over the last two weeks of August (this year the course will be between August 13 and 27). The first week is primarily devoted to pedagogical lectures (statistics and signal processing, software) and evening tutorials.

All tutorials take place in the computer laboratory, and participants are both allowed and expected to work collaboratively in small teams wherever the material allows for this. Apart from formal lectures, we have a number of tutors available for one on one advice and help.

Lunch talks: Each day during lunch, we have participant talks (20 minute talks so that participants in the course can present their research for discussions by the group).

Data driven competitions: At the end of the first week, participants are grouped into a set of small teams, and are given a few data sets along with some analysis questions. The participants work on these data sets and present their findings at the end of the course.
